Wake Up Wahoos

At Walsingham Academy, leadership is not a title, it’s an opportunity. Our students step into meaningful roles each day that build confidence, responsibility, and school pride while positively impacting our campus community.

One of the most visible leadership opportunities is our Wake-Up Wahoos Morning Show. This student-led crew produces our daily morning announcements and plays a central role in bringing our school community together. Each month, the Wake-Up Wahoo team also plans and runs our pep rallies, using creative skits and performances to highlight the school’s Character Trait of the Month. Their leadership shines as they engage their peers, set a positive tone, and help celebrate our Wahoo of the Month award recipients.

Our Safety Patrol students demonstrate leadership through service and responsibility. Each morning, they assist students as they arrive on campus, help classmates get to class safely, and monitor hallways to ensure a smooth start to the school day. Their presence provides reassurance and promotes a culture of respect and accountability.

Safety Patrol members also play an important role during pep rallies and special events. They welcome students and guests at the doors with enthusiasm, complete with pom-poms and cheer, helping to build excitement and school spirit. Following pep rallies, they escort parents to the media center, serving as courteous ambassadors for Walsingham Academy.

Safety Patrol

Through programs like Wake-Up Wahoos and Safety Patrol, Walsingham Academy students learn that leadership is about teamwork, service, and character. These experiences empower our students to take ownership of their school, support one another, and grow into confident leaders, both on campus and beyond.
